Ben Benavides is the Owner/Instructor at ProRider - Las Vegas and has over 40 years of motorcycle riding experience. While Ben is a former law enforcement officer and has completed and passed the Police Motor Officer Training Course, he was never assigned as a “Motor Officer.” Instead, Ben has been an everyday rider just like you. About 11 years and nearly 200,000 miles ago, Ben began riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Looking to improve his skills, in 2018, he enrolled in the Advanced Skills Course at the ProRider - Phoenix location. Not only did he gain a new, enhanced level of riding skills, but he quickly realized how valuable (and life saving) this training would be to other riders. That is when he started on the journey towards opening ProRider - Las Vegas. Today, Ben is a certified ProRider Instructor and currently has a stable of Harleys that include a 2018 CVO Ultra Limited, a 2014 CVO Road King and a 2009 Road King Police.
In his “off time,” Ben spends 2-3 weeks each year attending and working at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. An attendee since 2012, in 2018, Ben started working as a test rider in the Service Department at Black Hills Harley-Davidson. This puts him on an average of 50 bikes a day riding approximately 12,000 miles during the Rally, in addition to the 2000, or so, miles he and his wife will ride throughout the Black Hills. His position as a test rider has given him the opportunity to ride virtually every kind of Harley-Davidson motorcycle in every imaginable kind of condition and situation. Ben also travels all Summer and bring his Ultra along for his daily driver. Ben is so devoted to riding, he has even shipped one of his motorcycles to Maui during his vacations there, so he can ride daily on the island. All of this adds up to hours and hours of riding and experience in all types of weather and road conditions.
Ben is currently a member of the Southern Nevada Patriot Guard Riders and performs funeral escorts as a
Road Guard with the PGR
